1001 Nights: The Last Chapter

 
1001 Nights: The Last Chapter, a celebration of books and a reimagining of an iconic tale was the grand opening act for the official inauguration of Sharjah selection as the 2019 UNESCO World Book Capital. Revisiting the great classic with modern eyes, the performance recounted an original story never been told before, through dance, theatre, acrobatics, interactive video, live music, and digital arts, presenting a new twist of fates in the lives of fabled protagonists Shahryar and Scheherazade.

1001 Nights: The Last Chapter, an Al Majaz Amphitheatre production, was developed by Multiple International in partnership with 7Fingers and AIM.
The show brought together world class 537 theatre professionals, performers, innovators, technologists and storytellers representing 25 nationalities, as well as a 51-piece live orchestra, and was simultaneously communicated in three different languages, Arabic, French and English.

From April 23rd until the 27th, five unforgettable performances offered audiences a concoction of new technology and contemporary staging blended with the age-old timeless power of storytelling in Al Majaz Amphitheatre. Following acclaimed reviews, regionally and globally, Multiple International will be sharing the new chapter with the world!

History gave us 1001 Nights, on April 23rd a new classic was born. As a major contribution to entertainment history, the show is set to tour and continue capturing audiences’ imagination, internationally.
